I'm not sure about you, but every once in a while I have a cocktail of the moment, a cocktail that I order over and over again and can't get enough of. Hands down, my drink of the summer is the Aperol Spritz. I had my first ever spritz on my honeymoon last August. My husband and I landed in Milan on an incredibly hot day and after roaming the city we found ourselves overheated, jet lagged, and under an umbrella on a rooftop overlooking the Duomo. Everyone around us was drinking these bright orange drinks in large glasses that we could not identify. When the waitress came to take our order, we pointed at the drink and said "bring us two of those." It was love at first sip.
Aperol spritzes have very few ingredients - Aperol, prosecco, soda water, and orange - and are super easy to make. They are bright, refreshing, hydrating, and perfect for the summer heat. We have been living the #spritzlife all summer and have done our best to get our friends hooked too.
There are only two weeks of summer left, so try one out before it's too late!
